"Stockholm"

Mary Papademas' artistic journey found its genesis in Stockholm, where the distinctive Nordic environment profoundly shaped her creative vision. The remarkable interplay of Scandinavian light—alternating between the prolonged darkness of winter and the ethereal luminosity of summer—infused her initial works with a unique sensitivity to contrast and illumination. This atmospheric influence, combined with Stockholm's serene waterways and architectural precision, established the foundation for her distinctive color palette and compositional approach that would evolve throughout her career.

"The artist’s work conjures up the spirit of a time, a place, or an event and leaves us just a step beyond memory. According to Mary, she begins only with colour. As she works purely through colours, the painting begins to emerge – this is when she decides where it shall go.  With pieces like “Thunderbolts”, “Falling Stars”, and “Fire-works” the artist energetically touches on the universal. She creates meditations with “Tears”, “Shadows” and “Gleams”. Mary’s works reveal many truths. The viewer waits, as if something could appear at any moment.”
